Dr Amod is a clinical pharmacologist and medical ethicist with extensive expertise in medical law and clinical research. He earned his Certificate in Clinical Pharmacology from the Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine in 2009, followed by a master’s degree in law (medical law specialisation) from Howard College School of Law, University of KwaZulu-Natal. In addition to his academic achievements, he has served as an ad-hoc lecturer in Health Law and Ethics and is a consultant clinical researcher. Dr Amod holds a PhD in clinical medicine, awarded with a full scholarship. He is an active member of numerous national and international medical, scientific, and medico-legal organisations. A respected thought leader in medical ethics, Dr Amod is a frequent mainstream media commentator on clinical and ethical topics. He is a sought-after speaker, regularly presenting CPD-accredited sessions for healthcare professionals. His expertise has led him to speak at and contribute to numerous conferences and scientific meetings both locally and internationally. Currently, Dr Amod is engaged in several clinical research projects, including multi-centre clinical trials in collaboration with international universities. His professional interests include evidence-based medicine, cardio-renal-metabolic research, medical writing, clinical research, and off-label drug use.
