Dr Phahladira is a member of the Psychosis Research Programme in the Department of Psychiatry at Stellenbosch University. His current research interests include long-term treatment outcomes in patients living with schizophrenia following a first episode of psychosis. He holds various leadership roles locally and internationally and currently serves on the Diversity Committee of the Schizophrenia International Research Society. Dr Phahladira has been recognised as an emerging leader in healthcare and has been the recipient of several grants and awards. He is the Lead Clinician at the psychotherapeutic unit at Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital in Cape Town, and mentors under- and postgraduate students. He has authored and co-authored a number of articles in leading medical journals.
