Dr Tamatha Jane Urquhart obtained her MBChB degree cum laude from the University of Pretoria in 1992. She completed her internship at Kalafong hospital, where she continued to work for another 2 years as a medical officer. In March 2000 Tamatha qualified as a Paediatrician, thereby realising her childhood dream. She worked as a consultant in the paediatric department of Steve Biko for 6 years where she developed an interest in allergy and pulmonology. In 2006 she completed a Diploma in Allergology from the South African College of Medicine and was awarded the Eugene Weinberg Medal for the top achiever. She started full time private practice in 2006 and divides her time between the Pretoria Allergy Clinic, where she sees both children and adults, and practising paediatrics at Kloof Hospital.
