Dr Nazeer Ahmed Mohamed is an endocrinologist in the division of Endocrinology, as well as a principal specialist in the Department of Internal Medicine, at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital. He also spends limited time in private practice at Netcare Milpark Hospital.

Dr Mohamed has spoken at various congresses, symposia and CMEs both nationally and internationally on various topics including diabetes, thyroid, pituitary disease and critical illness. He is a past chairperson of SEMDSA and has contributed to the guidelines on premix insulin in fasting patients with diabetes during Ramadan; the South African hypothyroidism guidelines, the 2017 SEMDSA Type 2 Diabetes guidelines and the 2021 IDF Diabetes and Ramadan Guidelines.
