Dr Tony Dalby is a cardiologist based at Life Fourways Hospital in Randburg. He graduated from the University of Pretoria and completed his postgraduate training at Groote Schuur Hospital and the University of Cape Town. Between 1980 and 1983, he served as a Consultant in the Department of Cardiology at Johannesburg Hospital before moving into private practice at Milpark Hospital. In 2016, he relocated his practice to Fourways. A respected leader in the field, Dr Dalby was instrumental in the establishment of SA Heart® as the unified representative body for cardiac professionals in South Africa, during his term as President of the South African Society of Cardiac Practitioners in 1999. He is an Honorary Member of South African Heart, a board member of SA Heart, and holds Fellowships with both the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology. Throughout his career, Dr Dalby has contributed extensively to cardiovascular research, serving as National Lead Investigator on numerous Phase III international drug trials. His clinical interests include the prevention of heart disease, advancing public access to accurate information about cardiovascular health, and supporting the career development of emerging cardiologists and cardiac surgeons.
