Dr Muavha grew up in a small village near Makhado in Limpopo, where his passion for healthcare was ignited by a local general practitioner renowned for delivering quality care at affordable rates. Inspired by this community hero, Dr Muavha set out on a mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around him. He began his medical journey at the University of Pretoria and went on to become a trailblazer in his field. Dr Muavha established Limpopo’s first private urogynaecology unit at Netcare Pholoso Hospital in Polokwane, dedicated to the specialised care of pelvic floor disorders. He also played a pivotal role in setting up the province’s first public-sector urogynaecology unit at Polokwane Provincial Hospital - helping bridge the gap in women’s health services. Today, in addition to his clinical work, Dr Muavha runs an educational YouTube channel, demystifying urogynaecology and making this important field more accessible to the public. Through his work, he continues to honour the legacy of his childhood role model by improving lives across Limpopo and beyond.
