About our speaker

Prof Rauh works as a medical oncologist/haematologist at the Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch (CHEM), Differdange and Esch in Luxembourg.

Born 1964 in Munich, Germany, he studied Medicine in Munich and Lausanne, Switzerland, followed by post-graduate training in Munich, Nancy, France, and Luxembourg.

In 1999, he was given the opportunity to develop an oncology unit (including out-patient hospital and palliative unit) at Differdange Regional Hospital.

His work is mainly clinical, however his work also includes teaching and clinical research activity and he is interested in co-operations with developing countries.

Prof Rauh is an active member of ESMO where he acted as chairperson of the Practicing Oncologists' Committee 2015-2014, chairperson of the ESMO Quality Task Force 2015-2017 and member of the ESMO Educational Steering Committee since 2017.

He served as executive board member in 2015-2016, and as ESMO National Representative for Luxembourg for eight years. He is also an extended member of the ESMO Public Policy Working Group.

At national level, Prof Rauh is the president of the Luxemburg Society of Oncology, and active member of several organizations, including the Luxembourg Association of Palliative Care or the National Tumor Registry Board.

He is also a consultant to the National Cancer Plan and teaches at the General  Medicine Faculty of the University of Luxemburg
