Prof Blockman is a distinguished clinical pharmacologist with over 25 years of experience. He earned his BPharm and MBChB from the University of Cape Town, becoming the first to graduate with an MMed in Clinical Pharmacology. An expert in drug policy, Prof Blockman has served on national and international committees, including the South African Medicines Control Council and the World Health Organization. He currently serves as Chair of the Pharmacovigilance Committee at the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority.
