The role of PAF and histamine in urticaria

Dermatologist, Dr Essack, will lead a practical and engaging session on the pathogenesis of urticaria. He will explore the roles of histamine and platelet-activating factor (PAF) in driving symptoms, including itch and inflammation. Learn how rupatadine, a dual-action antihistamine, provides clinically meaningful symptom relief and improved patient quality of life. Pharmacists will gain insights into the condition and antihistamines to confidently recommend appropriate options and know when to refer patients to a doctor or specialist.
