Febe Bruwer is a Registered Nurse, Nurse Specialist (PhD, B. Cur, MSocSci, MSc, IIWCC). She has been the owner of Nianwi Health Care, a wound care and wellness clinic in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 2001 to date. Febe holds two master’s degrees as well as a PhD from the University of the Free State. She is the current President of the Wound Healing Association of Southern Africa (WHASA) and is involved in developing an accreditation system for wound care practitioners in South Africa. She has extensive post-basic training and research experience and is currently engaged in several research projects and product development. She is also a committee member of the Commonwealth Wound Care Resource Alliance. Febe is regarded as a key opinion leader in wound management and is passionate about standardisation and wound management education. She has several publications in peer-reviewed journals like Advances in Skin and Wound care, Wounds International and Wound Healing SA. Febe loves training and education, sharing knowledge and empowering Nurses to be the best they can be. She strives to live by the motto “Do the best you can until you know better, then do better” Maya Angelo.
