Stacking made easy

The latest addition to Multivac’s range of handling modulesWith the recent launch of its MPS 302 model, Multivac is offering the packaging industry an automatic pack stacker that significantly simplifies and accelerates the loading of thermoformed packs and trays into boxes.

The packaging solutions provider’s new machine stacks containers on top of each other in a defined way at the end of the packaging line. These stacks can be loaded into prepared boxes with just one movement of the hand. The system reduces manual effort by up to 50 per cent, offering an efficiency gain which provides quick return on investment.

The new MPS is suitable for stable and stackable thermoformed packs and trays and ideal for use with packaging that utilises modified atmosphere technology. It also has a number of applications with vacuum packs. It can also be integrated in a wide range of packaging lines and accommodated behind labelling and inspection systems.

The machine produces up to 35 pack stacks with a height of up to 160mm. In high-performance thermal packaging lines with a high production output, two MPS 302 stackers can be integrated to work in parallel. Depending on the line arrangement, this configuration could achieve a stacking rate of up to 240 packs per minute.
